Metaphor of jaguar Traces of socio-economic transformation of Ecuador Authors Rafael Correa Delgado Presidencia República del Ecuador Keywords: ecuadorian economy, citizen revolution, economic heterodoxy, social development Abstract In this paper, the author makes a comprehensive exhibition of achievements of the Citizen Revolution, which has determined a profound socio-economic transformation in Ecuador. Initially it presents the benefits that Nature gave his country and how this wealth had always been in the service of foreign capital, generating poverty and inequality for people. From the new Constitution, have been passed many laws that have allowed the government to redistribute wealth, to renegotiate the terms of exploitation of resources and generate greater welfare and social investment. The actions described in the article stand out as being part of an economic policy that goes against to the orthodox mandates of political economy, but have reported the greatest success in Latin America.
