Analysis of predictable trend of exchange rate of US dollar for the period 2014- 2015

The purpose of this paper is to present some elements that would explain the trend of the foreseen behavior of the USD dollar until December 2015. Diff erent statistical and econometric techniques will be considered, as well as the economic factors that could cause the USD trend movement. The USD exchange index will be used for linear regression and time series components extraction. However, the weight of the Euro in commercial relations to Cuba explains the use of USD/EUR pair as a reference for the frequency distribution analysis, which will lead to the confi rmation of the current trend. The analysis showcased in the paper will validate the research hypothesis: the US dollar should follow a lateral trend, within the frames of a more general trend toward depreciation.References
